The photo is definatley not fake, it was taken 2 years ago and and the chanses are one of the rods belongs to me. The lifeboat and the seaking chopper came out for us that day. Before you call me stupid, when we went on the sea wasnt that rough. It got up over a couple of hours and we had to sit it out for 12hours untill the tide had gone right out. Very scary day. Didnt catch anything either.

I think that one is probably not a fake, but there's a lot in his gallery in that link above that have certainly felt the hand of photoshop bearing down on them!
If I'd of been there I think I'd of been inclined to sit tight in the hole and wait it out, don't think even ben johnson and a bottle mandralone could of got along the length of there between wavesʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

It may be a false memory but I'm sure me, me dad and a few other anglers got took off a local pier in the 70's - would have been either of the Roker piers or down Seaham. The memory says we all got caught out on the end and tied cloth rod bags together to tether ourselves to something. Life boat turned up and we had to jump while the boat was going up and down like a dafty, if you jumped when the boat was at the top of a swell it would drop down and you'd hit the deck 40 ft below just as it was on it's way up! really don't know whether it happened or not."I mock thee not, though I by thee am mockéd.

Certainly was true Ell, Seaham north pier ,i was actually there watching it happen,i think one of the lifeboat crew ended up injured.Broken leg or something.I had a m8 who came off on the lifeboat and said he had tied his gear to the lighthouse and had some good fish in his wicker basket. The next morning the sea was as flat as a pancake.white van man

deff not fake,Like bigroppa said does look like the time we got caught on the pier by the East winds, but what the forcast said and was at the time 5 mile east winds all day but in a couple of hours picked right up hours, and was to risky to come off as fishing tide coming in
ADVICE:If You Think Its Gonna Get A little Wild On There Get Off Before You CANT deff not worth the risk !!!
