to be honest phill i would say you culd fish anywhere from cullernose point allong the rocks up to the castle, you have a good of chance anywhere. a year or two ago i started at cullernose with little succes then decided to head back to the harbour stopping at different ramdom places on the way, got bites and a decent cod and a decent scorpion fish at school point. you have to cut back into the land but again i have seen people fishing from there up to the harbour. 2 weeks ago we fished casting out to the skeer and a lad not more than 50 foot from us had what looked like a 2lb ish cod. the skeer also can be fished and is meant to be a good shot on a low tide but you would have to watch the tide or you will get cut off. the harbour itself has produced decent fish, even one report on here about a doggie or spur hound. after the harbour there are loads of visible marks which you can spot. on a masive low tide there is a skeer which runs parallel with the rocks and in front of that is the skeer with the manmade pyramid on the endfish into that area as the fish run and feed through there, further up there are gulleys and the rock edges. best fished on a smooth or flat or dying sea into the kelp beds. its a place you can catch fish all year round but a waste of time on big seas and very dangerous, big baits mussel and crab, one 5/0- 6/0 hook, 40lb straight through with weak link, rottom bottom. species of fish caught up craster, red cod, pollack, whites, coalie, the odd doggie, also the odd conger, macky during the summer, i have had a scorpion fish and a freind of mine new to fishing had a cat fish a month back. hope this helps on your quest for the odd fish or two
