Alright all. Just discovered a cracked tip ring in my Supercast. As a bit of a DIY idiot, are they easy to replace myself or should I take it to a rod builder or someone that knows what they're doing.

Use a lighter to heat the tip up and it will melt the glue, take the tip to your local tackle shop and buy a one the same size and some hot melt glue, heat up the glue stick and rub it on the end of the rod, put the new tip on and hold in place until the glue is dry, usually a couple of seconds. I always carry a spare tip and glue just in case.Last edited by wavy davy; 12-01-2014, 10:24 AM.

I`m 95% positive that daiwa rods have the tip eye stuck on with something different than heat glue,,,, i think you have to gently saw though the tip eye length ways to get em of,, best tool is a blade from a junior hacksaw..
you can use heat glue to replace them, but if its the factory fit eye then it wont come of with heat from a lighter.. have had to do this a few yrs ago on a old supercast of mine ..
