Only the select few (top end tournament casters mainly) get rods direct from Terry. The thing about ZZiplex is that it is essentially a bloke and his wife in a shed and the bloke is a bit of a character who builds the rods he fancys building on that particular day.
Best place for a ZZiplex is the second hand market (here and the classifieds on WSF are good places to look) as the selection of rods available is much bigger than in the shops. Next best is probably efishsell: eFISHsell - New & Used Fishing Tackle Online Marketplace... then UK Hooks and also Summerlands: Zziplex | Brands | Summerlands Tackle
If you have to buy new make sure you talk to the dealer and check the rod is in stock. Like I said above Terry goes through bursts of making rods so there might not be any e.g. M4 Evo's available for months then he will make a couple of dozen and the shops he prefers to deal through will have them in for a while. Some shops (though not usually those above) will take your money then keep you hanging on for months waiting for Terry to make your blank...CLIP IT AND WHACK IT

Sorry - just noticed it's been sold - oh well. The standard Zeteques are also around 13 & a half feet I think - I had one of the original two prototypes which was even shorter - 13ft 3ins but I think they were made a bit longer when they went into proper production. The exact length will often vary, anywhere between 13ft 5ins to 13ft 8ins is common.

Zziplex, hmm. I wondered for a while what was so special about them until a few year ago. I ended up with a hst evo, m427 hi flex and m4 evo. My mates a bit of a tackle tart and has many zziplex rods that I have used, including zeteque txl gt, bullet gt, m4 gt, standard zeteque, phase taper, m427, m427 su etc. My favourite of them all was the m4 evo and my overall verdict ? They're a headache, to much variation amongst blanks and most of all, overrated. The people who speak of them poetically are blinkered. Don't get me wrong, they are a nice tool but, and it's a big fully rounded but, they are not the be all and end all that some would have you believe
For the record, I use a c3ld now, century's cheapest blank and I can't sing this rods praises enough, brilliant rod. Another rod that was sensible money which I really liked was the reelsport response.Regards Nicky.
