I've been thinking of purchaseing a Sl2osh quite recently. Ideally I've been looking for something that may help increase my casting distance. I've been uesing a Penn 535 fro the past couple of year, so I'm looking for something with similar dynamics.
Anyone use this type of reel? Is it the right reel of choice, to ehance casting?
I was even considering purchaseing a standard Penn 525. I've been put off the Supermag, due to all these extra magents and stuff. I somehow get the impression all these little extra's will complicate things, and probably spoil a few relaxing hours.
i use a abu 6500 sports mag for distance and use a 7500 on the rocks were i dont need a big cast but i have only heard good thing's about the slosh 20 and 30 more so when fishing the rock marks
Strangely enough I'm about to put an Abu 6500 spots mag on E bay , only used once and surplus to requirements m,boxed etc , anyone want it beofre I put it on ?
The SL20 and Penn 525 are great all rounders, so depends on type of ground you are fishing over. If you are fishing over clean ground and want extra distance go for a 7HT or 7HT TURBO, or Abu 6500. Remember you can pick up a new SL20 or 7HT for £69.

slosh 20 is no slouch in the casting stakes. Yes its not a tourno reel, but for fishing and controllability its up with the best. Personally prefer them to 525 mags don't know why they are just much more user friendly. Mags can be a complete pain if they are not running quite right. Blocked reels once set up to suit change very little and you get used to them. With mags they can be braked too much or too little dependent on the conditions.
I love my 525 supermag ,smooth as silk and well put together that's why my sports mag has only been used once although it's a great reel as well , also got a 535 mag for the rough stuff but I've yet to wind the mag back and give it what for .
