    Thinking of trying for Bass...the weather should have stirred things up by the weekend...

    I will of course keep mark X a secret and any catches will be recorded, logged and released

      good luck mate,,, i have the feeling that bass may be a target species for a long time yet. what are we going for next month?. only 1 week left after this one !!

            i wouldnt mind getting a turbot or a brill from the shore tbh,ive allready managed a conger.

              where from? Conger isn't as secretive as Bass is it?

              When I was in Wales you could catch Turbot form the beaches - although they were extremely small...I saw one about the size of a 2p coin in the sand as the waves rolled back and forth

                  Where are you thinking of going for pollock Phil? There is a mark close to me where you have a chance of pollock and bass as well as plenty other species... I might get out at the weekend to try for the bass and a bigger pollock.
                  Best shore caught fish:- Pollock 6lb+ Beadnell, 9lb 8oz Cod Blyth Beach

                      Try Warkworth or any of the north beaches with sandeel or thin mackerel strip for turbot. You might even get one from Blyth beach. We've had a few in our comps the past few years.

                        Who is all joining in this species hunt? Can we not have some names and species caught on this thread?
