As fishing light is increasingly popular - what are the smallest breakaway leads available?

Don't know,but surely if you could use a light lead,if tide etc allows,then you wouldn't need a break away.

Smallest I've found are 3ozs, but if anyone knows where to get hold of 2ozs, I'd be more than happy for the info.

if your using lighter leads would you not just lessen the wieght snood so it'll just snap in a snag ?? or am i talking bol*~@ks again lol

erm?......aye!!

I mean in terms of gripping the bottom...2oz Breakaways would be a boon...I'm sure there are discerning sinker type bods out there with an eye for an opportunity

Surely the whole point of fishing light, ie for bass, flounder etc is to let the lead roll around in the surf and find the holes and gullies where the fish will be lying in wait for your bait?

Also, if you are fishing with a light rod and a grip lead because there is any sort of tide pull, the light rod will just start bouncing around, you wont spot any bites and the grip lead will eventually be pulled out of the bottom anyways?

Make your own Gemini's, I've got them down to 1.5oz using short tails and small heads.

Superb for the rivers.

Smallest I've seen in the shops is 3oz but really want some 2 oz if anyone finds some.

Theres a guy on WSF forum (forget his handle, but put a post up about the small leads and he should reply)

he does grip leads in 4oz, 3oz, 2oz and even 1oz

and they are spot on

charged about 30 p each if i remember right

We use them a lot down her eon the humber flounder matches in the smaller sizes
we use very light gear (6lb line, quiver tip rods, 1oz leads etc for flounder, scoolie fishing to maximise the fun factor) and on the ebb tide it tends to run a little to hard.
rather than chuck out a big rod which would totally over gun the fish, a light gripper is used to hold in place, but the wires must be set very light as to trip out on the retrive with a quiver tip rod, u willbe surprised how affective it is.

have a mould ,but its a multi x 4 sizes . smallest is 2.5 ounce grip . gonna try it out ,see what they like for the fishing methods
