  • best size sinkers

    hi was looking for some advice as to which is the best weight sinker to use on north east piers 6oz dca or 5oz nammix both grippers ive always used 6oz but been told 5oz will do the job better any advive would be very helpful

    You need to take lots of things into account,
    •casting weight of your rod
    • line breaking strain
    • tide pull
    • bait size
    Etc etc

      hi casting weight is 4-6oz breaking strain 30lb Berkley not sure ov tide pull etc sorry to sound ignorant but don't know much about it haven't been fishing very long

        like Davey says loads of things to be factored in mate, I just want to add though that yer don't necessarily need to use a gripper and if not you'll add a few yards on the chuck

            Depending on the pier, location on it etc. Some shots only need a 30/40 yard lob.. Check out post by scaley on the roker pier marks, a very detailed breakdown how far to cast and where.. although if distance is needed 5oz can cast just as far if not further than 6oz.
