Ok, the original idea has evolved a bit.

I'll list the kit we have

Shakespear MG10000 beach rod, Greys Gmag 7 Multi, Spinning rod, reel, lures, Tiga headlamp and charger(not sure model, but I got it from here a while ago), Adjustable tripod/rod stand, waterproofs, waders (Aldi/Lidl ones), misc spools line, weights rig bits, rig folder etc, oh and a signed copy of Davids book http://www.nesa.co.uk/forums/codling...h-david-storey

Money raised to goto Little Derek's Journey to walk, as discussed in earlier thread.

Thanks mate, however the idea was to get a setup to someone starting out etc and to give them money away.

Sort of defeats the point if people buy/ bid just to sell elsewhere?

2nd what you say Gary, if folk bidding just to get an item cheaper n then flog leftover equipment then it defeats point. Those including myself have donated to raise money for good cause & flog me if want but rnli do ok anyways

Yes it's evolved but was it not to give someone a start that perhaps didn't have the right gear to fish like a lot of us do, they see the post or family member or friend does, chip there pounds n pennies together and make an offer!
Not knocking the guy for donating cash to rnli just in this situation it's a bid just to bump the price , he if was to win does not want the gear.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION? could troyster just kindly donate his £50 to rnli,as he was going to do.then if jamesm bid of £45 wins,the lad gets the fishing gear @ his £45 bid goes to little deraks charity,that way 2 charitys benifit aswell as possibly jamesm,if all that makes sence.

OR give your origanal christmas spirit rod to winton,as he was 1st on @ his reason for the rod was explained by him self,he could possibly make a small donation.then start the bidding off again for all the rest,im sure possibly same amount will be bid.that way origanal thread solved.then winning bid for rest of gear goes to d r c.then its up to troyster if he still wants to kindly donate anything to rnli.ps,whats your thoughts on these idears?
