Surely like any mark it has its day! I have read the article and just take it for what it is.. On the day they had fish there, just dont expect to rush down and bag up! The sea conditions must have been right and as everyone knows every tide fishes differently.. Or maybe it was just luck! Its up to the individual to decide..

You have to remember that the reports in the Sea angler are at least a month old.

              middleton

fished it last Tuesday I had 1 small coalie, there was a 1and 1/2 lb whitey caught and a few other bits.... the day before the lads I was fishing next to said they had about a dozen whitey and 3 codling...it goes to prove if the conditions are right most venues will produce fish, even if the venues are frowned upon by the self appointed elite anglers of the nesa ....let the debate commence....
fish for 2014 whiting, codling, flattie, coalie, chub, perch,,trout,g rayling, seatrout, barbel roach and salmon .......let it go it will grow bigger

Stevie Walker generally writes articles for sea angler around Hartlepool areas and he should know he fishes local. Met him loads of times and always speaks. Real good angler as well.

Was fishing the heugh quite a few years ago and Steve was fishing the right hand corner. Nobody was getting a bite while steve was pulling in double shots whitey/codling/flatties every cast.. Didnt know who he was then but realised he was a good angler.. Spoke to him a few times since then, always willing to share info. Top bloke imo

Middleton very rarely produces fish over 2lb. Conditions have to be perfect for decent codling to be landed. Big sea's and most other piers will be awash when middleton fishes well, but as ya'd expect the end will be rammed as its 1 of the only places able to be fished.

Fairy stories lol. Yes, it can fish well enough in perfect conditions, but that is only the odd occasion and not the norm.
