easy method to catch whitings is use a 2 or 3 hook flapper rig (i prefer very short hook snoods about 4" but most use a little longer) about size 1 or 1/0 hooks and a breakaway lead. for bait small pieces of macky strip is the no.1 bait. a short 30 yard lob is all that is required if fishing the last 50 yards of the pier or round head, however on occasions a longer cast pays dividends. the best time to catch them is in darkness and the last of the flood/first of the ebb the best tide state however it often fishes well for whitings all the way up and down the tide. hope this helps.

hi every one i recently took up fishing and was wanting advice how to cst further and who is the big casters in the north east and who is the best angler or should i say the best anglers and would these lads offer advice cheers

thanks for advice i live in roker and fish local as it is my first year i ve been fishing the river "sand piont ratty glass centre ect ect....." i own a conoflex enigma and pen 525 with for the winter and use a salt flattie and cheap fixed spool for river.is there any good matches to fish and does aany one on here have success in these.

hello i was thinking of fishing a match, could anyone tell me if it worth it because im a beginner. and if i were to fish a match in the river what tactics to employ ie... hook sizes what size cat gut ect ect......and what speices id catch. i was in the tackle shop and heard half a story of someone catching bream i dont think this was local but id love some info on how and where to catch them. or could they be talking b******s because every one is offering advice but i think some of them are winding me up or telling me wrong info or is it me being paranoid.by the way i seem to be getting good advice from this site so i will be asking alot of questions sorry but im trying.or as our lass says very very trying lol .spoke to a lad called mickey said he was a member on here cant remember your second name but thanks for that tip on float fishing for makky cheers:
