Fished the comp this weekend and it's a great experience , very different to fishing opens and club matches . All the winners had live crab and white worm ....... Which makes me think , is it the angler or the bait ???
Not all anglers are sponsored and have bait supplied free .........
Why not have a match where the bait is supplied in your entry fee and that's all you can use ????
Then it's up to your rigs, hooks, casting ect.. To see who is the best ......
Just a thought , 4 hour match , 2 bags of rag 2 bags of lug and 4 crab , use as you want , if you run out that's it !!!!!
A match like that would see if the big boys would enter ????? I think not ....
Anyway we topsy ( Neil turner ) and myself had a great couple of days and look forward to fishing the next one .

Phil, I have fished for the British Police Team for a number of years now against a Combined Services Team, Fire Service and the SAMF team, where we all are supplied with the same bait.The SAMF Team turn out current Internationals and includes the likes of Bob Gasgoigne, Kenny McCoy and Garry Foster from up here, and believe me they always come out on top.Originally posted by Philysafc View Post

Yes they have access to the best of baits, but when they only have two bags rag, box of squid and pkt of maki like the rest of us, they still manage to clean up......down to skill I say.Comment

Aye it's down to skill and it gives everyone a chance , was just a thought , I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to fishing the same style match on New Year's Eve , the experience can only make you a better angler , thanx for the input mate , nice to see there's matches out there like that , I'll have to watch out for them , cheersI am a fisherman !
