    Sonik sk3 second time this has happened now , was out earlier and wind took my rod Over smashing 2 of the inner rings and cracking one , am I best changing the whole lot to a different kind ? Lee

    change the lot m8, they are crap , OR if you phone sonik , you can buy a tip section for £30 plus £10 delivery .

      Cheers for that mate , might just get them changed tho cos knowing my luck I will get a new section and it will happen again

              Get some minumins they have no inner liners and are cheep and tuff from rutherfords angling mate top quality+peanuts to buy.

                I bust an insert on mine and I've got Stan (fish fisngers) to out a new one on for me.
                All the gear, no idea.

                  I had a sk3 a while ago. Same thing, rod rest blew over, every eye shattered.

                  I got a new tip from sonik ( factory shop is in Blyth)

                  Then sold the rod. Lol

                    It's bit of a bad design like , the rod it's self I find spot on just a shame there so weak

                      It's what they do to knock them out cheap & maximise profits mate! The SK4s use Fuji Alconites, which I've got on nearly all my rods (only my Mk1 Apollo still has the old green Fujis on) and rate very highly. I'd reckon a set would be about £45 or so, then either tape 'em on or pay about the same again to get it properly built. The Pac Bay Minima's are pretty cheap & cheerful and can be bent back to shape, with no inserts to break. However, while they're pretty smooth with lighter lines (and very lightweight so a good choice for match / bass type rods), almost everyone I know who's fished heavier 30-40lb line through them say they don't half grind when reeling in under pressure & sound pretty rough.

                      There are probably a few other rings worth looking at, plenty of choice here:

                        Change the lot of them for a set of minima's or fuji BNLG rings both are cheap but very good rings...
