Hello all, first post here, been reading for a while and thought I'd sign up n ask for tips, maybe provide a input! Me n our kid are going out at about 11 in the morning, does anybody know where I can get some good cart in the morning in hartlepool or has any1 got any tips on baits that we could use? We are probs gonna go somewhere on the headland prom in hartlepool so we will be fishing rough ground. Cheers all tight lines!

Cheers billybobbage, al ave a good look at what they have got as ill be over there first thing for bait and so I can make a few rigs before we go.thanks for the mussel tip aswell, I've never fished between the heugh and the twin steps before as I didn't want to lose all me gear but ave got a bag of leads I can't even lift so tha should be enough for the winter hahaha. Take it with you not knowing where to go, you don't have any tips on venues tomorrow haha, our kid wants to go to Middleton but I'm sick of the sight of it,good for species but I've never caught a big fish from there, ave never even seen anything decent while I've been on there. I got my pb cod out of the marina a few weeks ago (jus over 5lb) and it was my first cod from the shore so I'm busting to beat that and can't see it happening on Middleton pier haha. Just checked the bbc then aswell, the tide is 13:14 4.9! Tight lines

Ring them up first thing mate and order it they open 8/9 ish as for the middleton u mite get a few whites and maybe the odd cod if there's plenty of colour or a bit of movement on the water which by all account it a modarate sea am not to sure where to fish the bandstand mite be your best beat if you willing to lose a bit if gear but if u hit a bit of distance ave allways found it ok if u get your lead up of the bottem quick a mite fish staincliff on the night or headland day time maybe even Middleton all depend on the water wen a have a look in the morning bud

Al be over there at about half 9 but al give them a bell just incase,I think a few people will be planning a trip over the weekend and I dont want to end up with a packet of rag tails haha. The bandstand is where I was fancying mate, I seen the thread from the other day and thought I'd give it a go now I've got enough gear. You will have to let me know if you think it's worth a shot when you have seen the sea, I'm still a bit clueless as to what seas suit marks best, I just hoy a baited hook in and hope

Not really mate, flirted with it for about 13 year but I almost always used poor quality cheap bait, on a poor home made 1 hook rig, on the jetty.... Very hard to get out of when you constantly catch and only live 2 mins away! It got knocked down n I've spent the last 2 years learning how to fish haha, I'm still on the 'chuck a 3hook flapper at any venue' page of the rule book. I still don't know enough about any venue to work out how it fishes best
