mark info please

Hi folks
Anyone fished the rock marks between Cullernose point and the Doctors house. I had a wonder along to Cullernose point last night and thought that therock marks in the bay loooked ok to try.
Was wondering best time of the year and time of the tide to try. Any info would be appreciated

Swine Dene is the name of the mark. I haven't fished it in the summer, but in winter from low water to high, it's a canny shot.

BUT...you'll lose all your terminal tackle if you don't use a rotten bottom rig.

if you walk about 300 yards past doctors house and then down on to the big skeer go a bit left till you find a gully with big metal plates in it thats submarine hole it runs right out to sea and provide's deep water at any state of the tide.

Dont mind losing some gear as long as im catching or even getting bites. Ill leave it for a few month befor i give it a try and ill let you know how it goes.

Often hitty missy at Sub hole....Sometimes I've gone in the winter and had loads of knocks, other times there can be 3 or 4 fishing there and can be nowt, I find it tends to fish better there later on in the winter season.

Swine Dene is the mark further North towards Cullernose and it often seems like your casting up over rocks. Never had a sniff there meself.

Salters Gate is between the two and I once saw some Plums fishing off the cliffs there. They must only have been fishing in about six inches of water as you don't hit the holes around there unless you cast much further out than they were!

Regardless ill still give it a go in the winter. If u aint got a line in u aint going to catch

Good mark but take care

I have fished this mark quite a few times. Follow the path towards Cullernose , you will see a wooden bench , go down the bank there and down onto the big concave rocks. Look straight out to see and a little right and you will see two sets of skeers with a deep gully in between. The rocks slope down toards the sea. The spot I fish is on the right hand skeer and you need to wade (chesties) to get on early as possible. You fish straight out. I have caught good codling in the winter from there and seen pollock to 5 lbs in the summer. Ground is rough.Getting off the skeer , I use my rod to (sort of) pole vault off , you can leave when thw water is well behind you this way. Don't fish this alone first couple of times if you use this method of getting off

Cheers Terry thats one of the places i was thinking of. also further along towards the doctors house. I think you would need to park coser to the doctors house and go down the slope there.
