  • Bait for Mull trip - these any good?

With the mu8ll trip coming up next weekend been thinking about what bait to take, Was going to get ragworm, mackerel fillets, sandeels and some launce if i can get hold of them.

Has anyone ever tried the ragworm from ebay?? next day delivery and i could get all my bait from here. The link to the shop is below. Costs £8.50 for delivery but as i live about 13 miles from nearest tackleshop anyway its probably worth it to save the hassle, providing the worms are good quality and will keep over the weekend.

I would have to order tues for delivery weds as i am at work thurs and couldnt receive the parcel.

Ian i bought some peeler crab stuff once off e-bay. It came in small size discs and looked very poor on the hook. I did not get one bite on the stuff.
If i was you i,d give amh angling in Annfield Plain a ring and speak to Alan. He will sort out some good bait for you and advise how to keep it. His number 01207 281673.
I do not know if he has peeler.

    Mick.

      Bait

      Hi
I would stick with the shop bought ragworm!
There are loads of fresh mackerel to be had from east and west tarbet this time of year. Take frozen sandeel if you have some way of keeping them fresh.
Failling that! I used to half fill a jar with salt, add water and pack with sandeel
And it will keep for a couple of months in the fridge. Had great success for the Pollack with that on a float or spun.
      Just add water!

Wsnt going to bother with peeler, didnt last year and still did well. Im quite happy pulling in dogfish using sandeel etc, there still a novelty for me as you dont catch them round here

best bait to take to portpatrick looking at the weather would be a big game pie from godfreys in shildon and a crate of magners

I think so, but you better pour large amounts of liquid inside and check for leaks before you go out in the rain
                          Cheers, Keith.
