Used to fish it regularly. Loved pensioners, the lane, steps and the Low drum. The fish were always stuffed with big green runnidown during bg northerlies and they were a fantastic bait.
Its ridiculous that all the south side of the river is out of bounds now - we must have the only port authority in the country to be like this. The terrorist threat doesn't wash with me either, total cop out.Davy

Happy days
Had a great Saturday morning two weeks ago in my mates boat uptiding 100 yards off the drum at the entrance to bar trams bay. Still plenty of fish around there. Used to dig some great bait in there. When God made time he made loads of it.
Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks

I had some exceptional sessions around the docks and the South pier.I fished the Lane in my teens before the new wall was built and the wooden staithes were there. It was worth putting up with the fanny pads on the gear for the great fishing.
Odd lads are still getting down,a mate had a canny bag of fish from the NE beach a fortnight back.
