  • Seaham Piers

Last time I was fishing at the Gare I was talking to a guy who said Seaham piers had opened up but you had to be a member of Seaham club to go on (£5.00 a year???).
I had a ride out today with the other half and called at Seaham on the way back ( I took her on a tour of fishing spots - South Shields pier, Sunderland river etc) and there must have been 20 or more lads fishing but I could only see the access by way of climbing up the rocks and going through the portion of fence torn down.
I know some Seaham lads read the topics so is there another way to get onto the piers - am fancying a go as it\'s nearest to home?

you have to be a member of seaham sea angling club to gain access to the north pier. when you join you get a high security key that opens a gate in the fence, not sure how much it is to join now as its a couple of year since i was a member but its more than a fiver i think around 15 - £20 will be about right.

Hey fishydad I was thinking of taking she who must be obeyed out for a day that she would never forget. It\"s not where It\"s not when. How the hell did you manage to persuade her to go for a look around \"possible fishing spots\". Hey I thought I was a bit of a smooth talker but I wouldn\"t get away with that mate. Hey I know I\"m just a newby (only being married 26 years) Any info you could give me on conning sorry persuading the love of my life to drive around possible fishing venues would be appreciated. Cheers mate.

      Jim.

P.S. If it is a technique that you do not want to be widely known please send me a PM. lmao

        Jim,
It\'s a doddle. All you need to do is go shopping first and put up with the Matalans, TK Max, Savacentre, Tesco etc. and then just slip into the conversation \'\'You don\'t mind a look to XXXX do you?\'\' works everytime ( last week after shopping in Hartlepool I had a tour of the piers )
Mind you I\'ve been married for 28 years and started fishing about 18 years ago when my lads were only 5 & 7. End of January on the end of Seaham pier with 2 6ft telescopic rods and a jar of cockles.
We fished virtually every week for the next 10 years then stopped until early last year when we all got back into it.
So the wife hasa been used to being a \'fishing widow\' for a while
