Hi mate i've just got rid of a scorpion sport, if your just getting back into fishing i'd advise against it powerfull rod they are user freindly they are'nt you'll just end up pi$$ed off. I bought mine for the rockend's and it took me ages to get used to. Suggest you lower your sights a little unless your fishing the clifftops or targeting conger.

I just got back last year. Bought cheap telescopic off e-bay to test the water. Then bought an Abu beachcaster off e-bay for Ł50. Does the job fine. Use second hand Abu 7000 with it.
Must admit though looking at somthing different next season.
Thinking about buying a combo from SEA Angler mag ads. For Ł200 you can get a mag 525 and a good beachcaster.
I will probably use both rods with my new stand and instead of fishing with two hooks on one line and fish a wider area.
            We,ll see.

            Mick.

Look at your local tackle shops first I would suggest - have a bit of a barter and see what deal you can get, even if it means a couple of quid over over the odds. On-line dealers cannot sell you fresh bait on a Sunday morning or give you up to the minute local advice. If owt goes wrong you could be in shtuck for a while as well.

Good advice Ian. I buy as much as I can from tackle shops, at the end of the day it is nearly always better to deal with a friendly face.

Do not be deceived by the friendly face bit though. Terry Woods looks like Steve Mcqueen with the cancer, Billy looks like your bog standard hunch backed Geordie wallah, Andy Rutherford is looking more like his dog every day and Brian from Frazers looks like he should be on the Dragon's Den. I of course just look pure rayker and the lasses love it. Never buy tackle off a man with a comb over or too much gold on his wrist. IMHO

Honestly I was joking - Andy Rutherford looks a bit like our lass apart from the fact that he's got 2 eyes and real hair.
