by walking down the piers, I guess they'd look first to the busier spots ie piers - easy target

I certainly would not fancy the job as a bailiff for the sea license ....just knowing every angler carries a knife would be enough to put me off.

In a copy of the response by the EA to the marine bill I noticed their comments on the introduction of a sea license are as follows.

          1. They are in a position to sell them if needs be.

          2. They are able to enforce the license given additional manpower (funding)

          3. They support the introduction of an angling license but also commented that anglers should be given a better deal before its introduction.

          Nothing suprising in their reply.

There is not a lot that can be done to stop this annual makkie slaughter by the masses and as has been said ...these people must have huge cats!

There is a commercial limit in the north sea of 1000 tons and it makes me wonder just how many fall to anglers in the june to september slaughter.

I have heard of the same thing happening whenever Bass appear in any numbers so if you are lucky enough to find any good bass marks keep it quiet.

          Cheers
          Dave
