Boulmer worm is just lugworm dug from Boulmer in Northumberland, it tends to be on the small side but i think 4 or 5 smaller worms makes a better juicier bait than one big worm. The mussel i get from the dealer is usually fresh but if none available then just get frozen and leave out for a few hours before you go fishing.

There was lad on the pier called Dave. He used to put his lug on the hook and tipped off with razer. He tied this on with bait elastic and then coated his bait in some substance from a small bottle. Swore on it he did. He did,nt seem to catch more than anyone else though.

Not sure what other people do but Razor,Squid and Mussel I just re-freeze once thawed,I've got a container that i bung it all in and some of it is possibly 2 years old,I just keep topping it up from time to time with new bait and mix it up,smells lovely
