  • Where's good to go?

Haven't been fishing in Whitley Bay/North Shields area since I was a kid...where is a good spot to go? Either beachcasting or rockhopping with a spinner...

If anyone can help - would be most grateful

Ok - let's forget about the immediate future...

For spinning you could try the pipe at Whitley Bay

        Welcome to NESA

Summer shore fishing is a bit of a speciaised thing round these parts IMHO - Flatties from very specific spots, Coalies and Mackerel from the piers, Wrasse off the rock marks, resident red cod, bass here and there - but it seems to be very quiet in comparison to the excitement of the winter season. Lot's of lads go fishing on the West Coast of Scotland in the summer for good sport - The best fishing again IMHO is from the boats during your average NE Summer

          Cheers

          (Hope that didn't sound patronising)

All advice greatly appreciated (not at all patronising).....I'm more of a casual angler than a full on specimen chaser, I'd be happy with flatties, wrasse, mackerel etc etc

What are the specific flattie areas? (or is it a trade secret?) and what would be the good rock marks? I know what i would think to be good marks, but i could be wrong...

What about the rocks near the tide filled swimming pool (near the pipe) where the divers go....that any good? I know the pipe has always supposed to be good, never actually fished off it tho'.
