Well yez is all wrong.YOU DO need one,and they are a tenner each.
I will be selling them from 7.30 am on Sunday morning at the gate.
I will only be issuing ten,as i only need a oner to tax me motor.
Hahaha small world. The maker of that thread is the guy i spoke to!!! Im late posting about this as i just remembered.
And for the record im not a manc! Ha. My pal is. Im a sheffield lad
The two stories are different though -
In the other post paddlesac said it was the guy with him, at the end (you?) who had been asked, and the other guy (your mate?) said he hadn't been asked when 'you' phoned him.
In this post it you said your mate phoned you when you were at the end (with paddlesac) and said that HE had been asked.
Am I confused or is someone telling porkies ???
Ron Thompson Axellerator 13’ - Penn Spinfisher 7500
Daiwa Seahunter Z Spin 10’ - Penn Battle II 4000
Savage Gear Bushwhacker 8’ - Shimano Ultegra 2500
bout 15 years ago me and me pal were fishing shields pier and this bloke came along with his clip board, sure he said he was from some kind of fishing agency asking all kinds of questions " what fish were we targeting?" "how often we fished?" and "what we'd be prepaired to pay per annum to carry on fishin?" safe to say he got sent packin but im sure at the time someone said they were lookin into introducing some kind of rod licence cant see how they'd be able to uphold it myself though

The only thing paddlesac got wrong was that he said that i told him id said i was asked for a licence. Bit confusing. Maybe the guy just didnt like the look of my manc pal
The original story - you got to the end of the pier, told paddlesac (steve) that you had been asked for a license, etc..., your mate then phoned you, you asked your mate if he'd been asked, he said no.
The new story - you got to the end of the pier, your mate rang you, told you he'd been stopped and asked for a license, etc...
two different stories mate, (and to be honest the original one sounded dodgy to start with)
(I'm not saying paddlesac has anything to do with this yarn, I believe he is the only genuine one in the story)
Sorry Mick,i do not take orders,as i want to be seen as scrupulously fair
in dealing with my customers.I don't engage in favouritism,as this may
tarnish my reputation. If i kept one back,on the condition of you turning
up at say 8,then i sold it at half past, thinking you'd changed your mind, what
would happen then,if you arrived at 9,and i could no longer furnish you,
with the aforementioned licence? You would slag me off, something rotten
on here, and mark my words,it would turn into a $hit storm.
Get there early mate, grab a bargain, and then fish whenever you like, for as
long as you like, courtesy of your pal Billy.

Hold on! Look back at my first post. I never said i was asked for a rod licence. I only said my mate was. And anyway whats with all the animosity? What do i really have to gain by making this up? We all know you dont need a licence so whats your problem?
