I was mate, I find codling quite bland at times, although I still munch it down with a nice bread crumb coating or tempura batter, but whiting deheaded and gutted baked in oven with some herbs/garlic briliant or blocked covered in flour and cooked on grill plate delicious. Got to have variety.

yeh fished me usual spot at marsden.
          hard going, as i expected

was hopeful to get on the pier but watchman made decision early on.
shame he said a few cod come off there last night.

might be wrong but am sure i saw a group of anglers get cut off on camels island. anyone hear out? must of waited for the tide to go back out

another local lad does the biz in the open again! I heard he had one but the sizes ranged from 6lb to 7.5lb so wasnt sure. Forecast not looking favourable to use up my bait either.

i fished on for another half hour and didnt see anyone on camels when i went past so unless they were around the back on the north side then they must have swam off cos it was still an island at 4.45!

If so then i was just to the north of them under the other brolly the other wrasse was caught to the left of me, they also had a nice codling of about 5lb. Hard work in that wind today.
Yeah that's the lads mate, I enjoyed wandering around learning some spots and as always the lads were very helpful. I spoke briefly to one bloke who was walking off Marsden cliffs back to his car with his rod as I arrived. That was about 14:30 I guess. Anyway he said he had 5 cod but didn't say any more. I don't know where he finished but he must have done Ok

There was a lad round the back fishing straight out to sea when I walked past about 14:00 ish - at that point it was definitely an island !
