I'm looking for a spinning rod for more fun with the mackies and pollock. Any ideas what to go for and a suitable reel to go with it???

Hi Gregg, I have a couple of Carp rods that I use mate and they make for great sport. If I want to fish very light I just use a small telescopic rod and you have to play the fish for a while which is cracking.
The Carp rods I also double up for float fishing for Pollack, or Bass fishing. I looked for a while before I found the ones I like but if you go to any tackle shop they will let you have a feel and a bit of a swish about with it before you buy.

Same as Jim mate,Carp rods,I actually got mine in a NESA auction off Mark (Mod) plus another one my son uses and it has served me well,I've got various fixed spool reels but i prefer the Okuma undertaker 50,reasonble price and excellent quality.Cheers Alan...
