I have to say that when I first joined the site I thought the site was very clique. The good news is that if you stick with it you will find it to be one of the most friendly sea fishing sites on the net. Everyone will tend to comment on a mates post which probably leads to this opinion. If you stick with it you will make good friends here...and fishing companions as has been my case.
Over the last year I have met several people from here including the site owner and have made some good friends and no enemies. The other point is I have had some great fishing trips as a direct result of this site...the rnli fundraiser its one that immediately springs to mind. I happento have a different approach to angling than the majority of NE anglers in that I fish for pleasure and return well over 90% of what I catch. No one has ever commented on that and peopleaccept that we all fish in different ways.
Over the last couple of years this has moved from a site I visit occasionally to my first point of call on the net each evening. This is partly because of new responsibilities as the NSFC angling representative and as the SACN regional co-ordinator. I hope to keep local anglers informed of what is going on and also fight for a better deal for NE anglers. Not everything I have to write is of intrest to most but at least I can feel I have done my bit by making people aware of things that are happening and things have never happened as fast as they are at the moment with regard to our sport. This forum has the potential to help fashion NE sea angling into a semblance of what it used to be. I for one hope that will be the case and will work hard to ensure it happens.
Cheers
Dave
