With regard to the NvS Comp (as the N captain) Jim's right, there's the ticking off, money collection, people arriving 5 minutes before the off (or not arriving at all). Regarding the pooling of information I sent pm's to all in the team prior and, along with 2 other team members, walked the coastline on the Saturday morning. My opinion was that none of us had any experience of fishing south of the Tyne but at least some of us tried to sort a mark out. It's not really the sort of event for having a crack. Perhaps if it finished at 9.00 we could all retire to the pub?
Would hate anyone to think I was cliqueish - I don't reply to anything lol.

On any forum on any tioic you will get cliques.
Don't think that is a bad thing it just is as in the real world people come together cos they share the same views, outlooks or just click.
Thats life,i have made comments and not had a reply but i don't take it to heart.
Every bodys mind works diffently and what may seem an importnat matter to you is trival to theirs, again just like real life.
But again i have learnt from simply reading posts so you do not need to be active in a thread to find it off use.
As to topics that get hot,i always say people have the chance on line to walk away, have a cuppa and a think before they post.
      No one will know,honest injun.
So i see no reason for anyone to lose it or get shirty.
Points can be made far better with a cool head and i have found that nothing annoys any wind up mechant you meet anywhere in life other then sweetness ,light and logic.

Spot on Paul ( Hiram )we all felt a bit strange when I first joined but since then I've not looked back ,we've all ha topics without reply and well to be honest I just shrug it off and carry on . I know I've mentioned this before but the people I've met ,information I've been given and the places I've fished because of this site are priceless , also I must say that some peoples replies can be read in differing ways and everyone needs to remember that and be subjective ,as it's all about fishing and never any need for silly or heavy comment although a good debate is always welcome ,enjoy the Site Stewy you'll get a lot from it mate.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

I think this forum is excellent. I often mention it when fishing. I,ve met a couple of lads when fishing who also use the forum. One from Redcar and another from Horden way, Its good for information and i find it very informative.
Insano is my mate we both do the same job. Only i,m in one county and he,s in the other.
I don,t know anyone else but i,ll bet when i,m out one day be it on a river or resevoir or on the pier or boats i,ll meet up with a member and have a good bit of a chinwag.
I was on the resevoir the other day trying my hand at fly fishing. In the back of my mind i remembered Sless,s bairn with the trout she caught on the opening day of the season. I blanked on the fly but it was good incentive to keep trying.

Only a couple of things I can say about this forum as a new member.
Great bunch of guys, whether sea fishing, fresh water or boats there is always some friendly banter going on and loads and loads of info being passed around.
I have passed a few notes back and forth with various members and I am sure that in the not too distant future, whether thru a comp or mutual arrangement that I will spend a shift or two fishing with fellow NESA members.
Great Site , ran by great people, keep up the good work.

the amount of people i have met on here is great
a few years ago i got a pm off frank nesbitt

do you fancy coming to poole for 4 days boat fishing
i never met any of the lads ever before(32 of them)
and i got on with them all
the year later i went to jersey with them
i have met loads of lads and got on great with them all

so i think this site is exellant for mixing

even the pairs that yours truly arranged
we fished with a few lads and had super nights fishing
                    well the crack was good

I do not understand, how can you have open debate without argument and disagreement. This place is an absolute walk in the park compared to many other forums, a credit to it's members and the moderators. There's been some right old ding dongs on here in the past

I think it's grossly unfair to accuse some of the members of this site as being "cliquey" it is a total kick in the face for a number of lads and lasses here who would break their backs to help people on-line and in real life (and have done, just about). I bet a number of these will be horrified that that is the opinion people looking in have formed. If you don't like the forum nick off, if you don't like some of what's said here then seethe quietly or have a rant back. The fact that without fail when members have met up by chance in person or small groups they have had nothing to say but excellent things about their craic speaks volumes. The comps are a bit diferrent and it's understandable why people feel a bit odd or shy or whatever - it's a comp! Your meeting strangers you think you kow! Some of you may even be guilty of saying odd things at stupid O'Clock in the morning and feel a bit shan about it !

It's very rare that the answers are irrelevant, I know this because I just tried to light my tab with a memory stick and thought - A combined memory stick lighter would be just the biz and you could download butane from www.gasforlighters.com

just want to add if anyone has taken my previous comment the wrong way, i love the site ,but the feeling i used to have sometimes is because i dont post as often as i should, and didnt push myself forward at the meet. if i or anyone else puts in the effort ,we will get far more out.
For example one of my recent posts was for fresh crab to take away with me on hol to try for my first bass,i got several pms,and want to thank the member who gave me some,I caught 5 in one three hour session .
Again going back to the NVS i will be helping the south side win next year and am sure i will enjoy it more than i did last. Allthough i enjoyed that one too.
I think ill stop babbling now as some of you will be loosing the will to live soon!

Crab posts are often responded to with a PM, it's a crab thing. As are Bass Posts, worm beds, new wrecks(?) and Bass marks. This is to stop unscrupulous gadgys doing wobbly things with little effort for loads of reward.
