Is anyone catching whiting north of the tyne? (No mention of them in catch reports, but I suppose there's been plenty of codling around...)

PBs...Cod 8lb2oz.. Turbot 3lb2oz.. Whiting 1lb8oz.. Coalie 1lb9oz.. Flounder 1lb7oz.. Dab 15oz.. Plaice 13oz.. Bass 1lb 6oz -
Had them last two beach sessions south of the Tyne mate, Seaham and Marsden. So they shouldn't be far away. -
Yet to see any weighed in in any of the Whitley or South beach club matches although I believe Tynemouth club had a couple a few weeks back when it was flat. I've yet to see one this winter (if you can call fishing in shirt-sleeves last night again "winter" fishing!).

Seaham hasnt seen the usual numbers yet.. In fact they seem to be getting fewer in number the last couple years.. Rely on them for the winter sport when the cod not showing their heads!Comment
