  • Spanish Bass.

Just got back from a weekend break to Torremolinas with Julie and her parents, we had a canny little break and I managed to fit in a few fishing sessions also.
On the second evening there was nice bit of surf running and just out of daftness I had a go from the beach in front of our hotel. I made my way along the beach not realy expecting much but ended up having a cracking little session catching school bass on small No2 Mepps spinners.
I called it time to get back in for the evening meal and the next evening I tried again but the surf was much bigger and the small spinners useless. I had a go with little redgill type eels behind a bigger controller float but this was also useless.
With the heavier sea on I tried the Marina at Bellamedina with floatfished bread but only caught some very small "bream like" fish that I didn't have a clue about but no mullet. Inside the marina there are some very big mullet but fishing isn't allowed, only on the outer marina arm.
If anyone's going over there on holiday it's worth taking some tackle with you
to get a few hours in.
I've got some photos that I'd like to add to this post but being a bit thick I'm not sure how to! I have them on my computer but I can't seem to add them to this post. I can send them by e-mail if anyone can help out.
    Thanks, Ian.

    fishing in Spain.

Ian glad i saw your fishing info. I,m off to Benidorm in May and i,m taking my small spinning rod and reel.
Looks like lures, floats will be in the case as well.
I,ve seen those fish in harbours and marinas before. Look like some sort of mullet. They murder the bread.

    Cheers Mick.

Ian thanks for that mate. I,ll stick a couple of tobys in the case. Think i,ll also buy a telescopic rod from the shop up the resevoir for about £13.It will fit in case easier.
My lad can use this when we go up together.

        cheers Mick.

Good Stuff Ian, I was there last summer but didn't try fishing.

The fish in the marina were mad, going mad for the bread.

Mail me the pics and I'll post them up for you.
          Cheers, Keith.

            Thanks Keith,

I posted the pictures in an earlier thread, "pics from spain", but I could only post them as attachments so that was pretty crap.

However a breakthrough! I have searched through previous posts and found some info on "image hosting" so i will try to follow this.

I have a love/hate relationship with my laptop, I know that posting pics as part of my thread should be easy but I have so far failed and now feel small and stupid and as such I hate my laptop and it's silicone guts.

            I will keep trying.
