What do the labour government do for me as a single bloke with a decent income and no kids? What exactly have i gained from the constant labour stealth tax increases?

Why has the labour government been sucked into the carbon emissions con? Placing stupid taxes on us with the excuse that it will reduce carbon emissions when our output is but a drop in the ocean compared to the USA, China etc etc?

What does the labour government propose to do with the extra revenue they will get from increasing VED ? Is it to be spent improving the roads which are in a shocking state or is it going to be wasted trying and failing to get our hopeless public transport system up to scratch?

How does he propose the rod licence scheme for sea anglers will be enforced and how does he propose that us paying a licence will somehow increase fish stocks in our coastal waters?

If sea anglers have to pay a licence fee is it not fair that users of jet skis etc should face a taxation scheme ?, after all they do put out carbon dioxide which the labour government seem to regard as being worse than satan himself and spoil others enjoyment of our coastline!

why do mp's want to be exempt from the freedom of information act and not have declare how much expenses they are claiming and how much they are earning from 'other jobs'

Oh right, I think its more aimed towards regulating the industry so the guards are monitored and to ensure they are paid fairly . I am sure in past lots of guards were paid below the minimum wage, the registration scheme might help prevent this? Should also ensure you dont get dodgy charaters working as security guards. From experience this used to happen a lot in the past.

                      sorry being flippant

I'd love to be proved different but doubt very much that what anyone says will make any difference at all. He will be no doubt the nicest bloke possible as thats what he's has been trained/briefed to do. I really do hope he takes stuff on-board but, as you've probably guessed, the fact that he's an MP means that in the majority of peoples eyes, that no longer equates to someone who wants the job due to a desire to be of benefit to society, but because it's power and money above everything else

but serious questions... (I haven't read much of the bill)

what if you are solely a boat angler, or fish wrecks outside the 6 mile territorial limit?? will that still be licenced??

what about a written comitment to enforce the inshore commercial fisheries policy?? how many times have we seen gill nets within yards of the shore or trawlers less than half a mile off??

Is it England, england & wales, or the whole UK. (no rod licences needed in scotland at the mo)??

If its just England and Wales, will SMP's get to vote on it like they do everything else that affects us and not them??

any Mention of a closed season??

why can't this be combined with coarse/game licencing. the infrastructure is there already, so the set-up costs will be minimal. the baliffs are already around.

If there are to be dedicated baliffs, what powers are they likely to have and what enforcement would be proposed for 'offenders'

perfect example might be, shields or roker pier end of july, I'd guess you could see as many as 100 or more 'anglers'(!) in a 24 hour period on there.
with numbers as that I can't see any reason why there shouldn't be daily enforcement of licencing. 1 Baliff could quite easily cover all the major piers in the north east in a day

bottom line really is what can we expect from them in return for our hard earned, and where's the evidence to support it??

I've said before I'd happily pay for a Licence if it actually meant something and the sport/environment/fish stocks could be seen to benefit. Especially if it gets ride of some of the fecking aresholes who inhabit some of the better places to fish in the north east.

may be worth asking if scotland throw it out will england do the same, are they going to actually do something constructive BEFORE demanding money from the angler, actually prove the fears of it being a stealth tax is untrue, ask why as the navy was originally formed to not only repel invaders but also to protect our coasts, our fish stocks come under that protection i would think, i would also ask why the foriegn trawlers are allowed to seemingly do as they wish without recourse to anyone or anything, something we could not do off thier coasts, as i have posted elsewhere we have a nimrod fleet that regulary target shipping for training, why then cannot they be also used for fishery protection, they are in the air and working, we are not under threat so they will not be taken off anything and in fact could add variety to the normal work

                            Rip Off Britian

Sless you can ask Mr Milband, if the labour gov are supposed to be for the people and listen to the people why then did Mr Blair take no notice of 2,500,000 people that sent in pertitions to him about congestion tax, and sent a email back basically saying 'you are all stupid! this is how it works and I'm going to do it regardless of wat you idiots think!'. Getting to my piont if this is the gov atitude to us 'idiots' wat garantee are we going to have if this stealth does come in ,[which it will because they dont listen to the people]. that the labour and Mr miliband are going to listen to us? well I can answer it NONE it's another TAX same as all the other made up TAXES that the LABOUR PARTY has made up. To criple the poor and beifit the rich.

How about asking him how he can continually limit the pay of the public sector to as close to 2% as possible while his pay has gone up from £102,000 in 1997 to £171,000 by 2002?

                              OR

How, on such a meagre salary, he can afford mortgage repayments on £5,000,000 worth of houses (5 at the last count?) while half the country can't get on the property ladder.

                              OR

Why he has created a government that nobody now believes or trusts on any issue, least the one about the fishing license.
