  • Quick Rig changing

hey guys, im pretty new to fishing so thought id quickly ask the question on here.

I use gemini links for my leads which allow me to easily change my weights, is there something instead of a swivel i can use on the end of my shock leader to allow quick changing of rigs so that i can prebait up? Pretty sure this is easy and theres got to be something out there.

can you put a Snap link on the end of your shock leader and then say if im using a pulley put the pulley swivel through the end of the snap link? would this cause tangles?

I use the quick link on my shock leader and the swivel on my rigs for a quick change . I'm not keen on the snap links don't think their as strong mate

        Fastlinks

Breakaways fastlink on the end of your leader, strongest and safest attachment for your traces to use.

Yes that would work. Thats what most people do mate

Personally prefer gemini spin link clips though

another cheap and simple option is oval ring from tronix , got the bit that makes changing rig easier than split rings...cheap too
Punch and pull then let rip

u can try it directly if u want . some may disagree with me i do a small loop ( dont know what its called but its not given me any bother even when fishing rougher ground) then loop the loop into the clip/split ring/spin link. if u normally have a swivel direct to shocky u can also use twinlinks , tho i dont like twinlinks personally .

swivel on the end of your shock leader , use snap links etc on your traces , then you can have a bait ready each time , clip off and clip on , this method works extremely well when fishing a timed match/comp etc .

I use a link clip on my shockleader and swivel on my rigs.

Gemini link clips are the smallest and can fit through most rod tip eyes no problem.

Gemini rig clip on the end of my leader, small oval split ring at the top of my rig.

It's a personal thing but I don't like swivels anywhere on a load bearing part of the rig, hidden parts that can corrode and give way on the arc of a pendulum cast don't give me confidence.

The Gemini rig clip is small enough to go through the eyes at the end of a session, the small oval split rings are what I used to use when field casting after being given a few by a 300 yard man so I have total faith in them
