  • Summer gear advice

Just starting keeping an eye on any stuff coming available for summer spinning to go and have a go at pollack etc. got me wondering what people out there recommend as a good rod/reel combo line used etc. time taken to advise would be appreciated
    Cheers Mark

What kind of budget do you have mate? Best place to start from

For pollack I use a bass rod and 40-50lb braid with a 3oz lead and a jellyworm, but I normally fish for them over the border.

For more general summer spinning I use a greys sea spin, it's 11ft and casts 40g spinners with ease. I use that with a Shimano exage 5000 front drag and 30lb braid.

Clearly not limitless budget but I'm one of those people want to make sure my gear can never be the excuse so rather would do without than get quality! By cheap you buy twice!??
