I have spoken to harra on this and it seems there is more than one thread discussing the same thing. I have emailed Mr miliband asking foR a meeting with local anglers and both the NSFC angling rep and the NESFC rep too would attend (assuming he is back in the uk from brussels). My suggested venue was the Cleadon club as he is a member there.

The comments were not meant to be personal jim, but i see your point about how it would look bad if he were to look in on the site, i for one would like the chance to debate the subject with Mr Milliband but i cant see it happening at the moment.

We'll see jamie...after all he has to respond to his local consituents...I suppose it depends on the size of his majority. But you would be amazed at what the local press will pick up on to fill pages on a quiet news week.

Paul,

Initially I woud concentrate on having your local MP being accountable to his local angling constituents and answering their concerns . After all that is what he was voted on for. To try and organise a cross party debate may well be a case of running before you can walk, but having said that letting the opposition know your causes for concern is well worth the effort.

MP's are obliged to reply to any valid communication they recieve. If in the unlikely event that Mr Miliband is not prepared to meet you to discuss the sea angling in your area before the closing date for the replies of the white paper consultation you can rest assured that the SACN & NFSA will ensure that all their members are aware of this and issue press releases accordingly.
