  • Loop rig help

    Hi all,

Ive been trying to tie a 2 hook loop rig as described on the planet sea fishing pdf.

The problem is I can't get the top hook to stay in the cascade swivel.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

is there sufficient tension between the cascade and the bottom clip ? also instead of srt u can also use silicone and a bead to help create the appropriate tension .
Punch and pull then let rip

Did you get tension on the spring with the rig clipped up before crimping the stops in place ?
            Cheers Nicky

Ive put a stop knot on the bottom so I can get thr tension spot on.

Haven't got any silicone to try that method codcatcher.

Might try turning the cascade round

I think I might have sorted it. It looks like I had the length from the hook to the cascade longer than the cascade to the swivel.
I shortened it by about an inch and appears to have worked.

In total its taken about 1.5 hours to tie and sort this out :-(

                  Thanks for your help.

Your hooklenth between hook and cascade should only be long enough to fit your bait in(say 4-5inch for example), then the top bait will be closer to the other bait and lead, making the rig more streamline for casting.
