  • Spining

I am looking to do some spinning in Northumberland on a regular bases this summer. I would appreciate any info on the best places to fish, I am based in Bamburgh. Also best spinners/lures to use, complete novice so any help would be great.Dave

Try behind Dunstanburgh castle, from about june onwards. Plenty of mackeral and the odd decent pollock. Just use a regular mackeral spinner there about a quid from most tackle shops.

you could also try cullernose point, beadnell big skeer and a couple of places south of craster between the harbour and cullernose

        Spinning

I would agree with dunstanburgh castle. Go there a couple of hours before dusk and you can't fail with macky. I've had pollock to 6lb from there as well on the float with macky strip. Never had much luck at cullernose point.
The beauty of summer spinning of the rocks is the walking and exploring new marks.

        Good luck....
