  • A few pics from Shields pier today

    Had a few hours on the pier today at the rail end area, looked perfect for a bass but nothing doing. Not too windy, the sea was choppy but not massive, looking good for the weekend.

      I had one bite but I ended up snagged. I think it was a flatty though.

                        The big sea should have cleared all of the snags mate. Should have a couple of snag free weeks.

                          Looked a bit cold and blowy today

                          Pity about the fish though Mark

                          Me and our lass went down to the fish quay this afternoon,picked up some frozen "calamari" for bait, then sat in the car park next to Tynemouth pier eating our chips

                          I took a few long range pictures of the south pier;

                          At least one hardy soul on the end of the pier, kept popping up to cast I think, then disappearing again, out of the wind and spray

                          It didn't half bring back some memories of walking back along the pier, dodging the water coming over the wall, when I was about 16 or so

                          Then we set off, up to St.Mary's Island, stopping to take a few more photo's on the way

                          I'm going down to the pier tomorrow morning for about 9am ish,fishing the ebb, see how things go.

                          I'll be dragging the new box and trolley, complete with "NESA" sticker, this time

                          Cheers

                          Steve

                            Unlucky mate, plenty of flatties around there. It does look quite bassy so well worth a chuch I think... got to be in it to win it!
