debating which reel i should get my wife to buy me, really fancy the slosh30 as i am just starting out with the multipyer, using a abu 650 without the lever wind at the min but tempted to go for the 7000i with the level wind to make things a bit easier, what would be the best all round reel ??????? I take it wanting either of those you will be fishing heavy ground? In my opinion the slosh30 will be your best bet, You will get a better cast and the retrieve is way better also at 6.1:1 with the Abu being 4.1:1.
My first Multi was the Penn 525 about 17 years ago and still have it to this day and had no problems at all, If i were you i would ask someone to try a level wind before you spend the money and regret itLast edited by OuTkast76; 10-10-2013, 05:40 PM.

hi outkast, i am after a reel that can do just about everything, a good allrounder, have been pointed in the direction of the slosh 30, i have just started fishing again after many years off and only used a fixed spool in the past, i fish blyth to lynemouth at the min but am planning further a field,

I would personally go for the daiwa over the abu, Its cheaper and can do everything the abu can and more, I am biased towards daiwa though as they are mainly my reel of choice owning 4 of them and a penn, Will be worth getting a few more opinions too

I use all three reels mentioned and there all good performers in there own right but the 525 for me is the one I use most casts great and will pull a pig through the kelp slosh 30 not a great reel for casting but if your chucking into gullies kelpy and rough you wont go wrong with this reel will pull a sub up at speed abu 7000 c3 mag is what I have its solid and reliable will handle the beach and rough ground casts well" better than the slosh in my opinion and the abu 7000 I is also not the best for casting especially if its got a levelwind
