  • season over

Guys am i right in thinking the cod/whiting season is about over.

It has been very quiet the last couple of times i,ve been fishing but i was hoping there may be something about.

I suppose its flattie time and wait for the mackeral to show.

Reading the forum it looks like everybody is gearing up for the boats or fresh water.

Personally i want to have a look out on the boats.

We have a week up at Seahouses in a caravan in August so i,ll be down the harbour booking up.

    I,m also looking about elsewhere.

I must be mad as a fish cos when i was a lad i always threw up violently. Still i used to go out in my uncles boat and the first thing he did when he got past the heugh was to put his fingers down his throat and throw up before eating his tomato sandwiches.

The diesel fumes also knocked me sideways.

      Hi Mick,

I have to say that I don't think the season is over yet mate. It does depend on the sea conditions but if they are right then we could still be in for some fairly decent sport.

There is nearly always a late spring run of Codling, but that said if conditions are not right then you will be spot on and it will be all over.

      Jim.
