It was exactly the same at Blyth on Thursday and Friday nights for me. My mate had the same problem on Sunday night really good bites but no fish. You won\"t be doing anything wrong they have possibly got plenty of natural food such as sandeels. It just sometimes happens that way. Keep trying lol.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

We found the same thing on monday.Got round the problem by dropping down from 4/0s to 2/0s and given them loads of slack line. They turned out to be small codling and whiting hitting the bait.

Had this same problem couple of months back. As per Lingbasher I dropped hook size to 2/0 but still nowt. Then added a second hook to form a pennel rig and hit every knock from then on in. Turned out to be whiting and all were taken on the top hook of the rig. Only assume it must have been the way they were hitting the bait that they were missing the single hook.

We had the same last night (Monday) .fished Little Bay (whitley Bay) 5or6 cracking bites and went to the pub fishless and very cold I had one bite, I could not have been more than 8 yards into the water, another birdsnest trying to undo the mess bang, so I struck and tried to walk the fish out of the sea even that didnt work I must have been in 1ft no more than 2ft of water.. it just shows you never know were the Ba*%£** S are

had this problem myself a few times especialy this time of year,i found beat way if not connecting with good bites was to put smaller baits on and shorter hook traces, how many times have you caught a fish and it is abso;utly full.sometimes they are not realy hungry and they would rather have a smaller snck, smaller hook traces tends to pull them up quicker, if you had just had a big meal you would rather pick at something smaller than another big meal .sea has been up for a while and plenty of food about

It could just have been one of those days but most time I find when you\'re getting bites like that and missing them regularly then scale down your hooks. Talking of 2/0\'s is still quite large if it\'s whiting or coalies hitting them. Scale down to size 1\'s or 2\'s possibly even size 4\'s and see if it makes a difference. If you\'re worried about better fish being about make sure to use a strong pattern such as a Kamasan Aberdeen. I was landing codling to 3lb on 1\'s and 2\'s this winter using Kamasans.
