  • Taking Ragworm to Norway??

Quick question guys, I'm off to Norway in couple weeks just wondering if anyone has took and Ragworm over there (via flying)?? We've already got our extra suitcases which will have blueys, mussel, mackerel the lot.
Iv herd a few people take it over just wondering if anyone on here has done it or has some good insight into it.
    Much appreciated people. Cheers

Already taken all the fish bait but been told ragworm seems to be doing the bizz over there. I'm getting wild ragworm to take over just wanted to no if anyone has done it. I just don't think il be wanting to dig over there.
        Cheers.

I have been to Norway three times now and found fish baits defo better than worm. For me its bluey all the way. Mind last time squid did the bizz. Dug blacks and whiteworm last time but not a patch on big bluey baits. Never tried rag but no harm in taking a couple of score. Personally I am sticking to bluey.

We take it over in a polystyrene box and stick it straight in the fridge when we get there. Bluey is a great bait but when the fishing is hard the rag gets them biting! You can dig all kinds of worm there but if your like us you won't want to waste a low tide digging.

Ragworm will get you more fish but fish baits seems to pick out the better fish I wouldn't waste a low tide by digging over there unless your there for 7 days or more
                Cheers Nicky

Were there for 7 days but I have no intention of digging over there it's just pure fishing time for me over there. Everything's going in poly boxes sealed with ice packs in them, then into the cases.
                  Cheers for the replys lads!

                        Ragworm.

ANY form of live bait fishing is illegal in Norway, using either worm, fish or any other live creature. If caught you can be heavily fined. Just don't get caught.
And yes, rag does work a treat over there.Tight Lines.

the day we sett off, we packed hundreds of worms in layers of paper in sweet/icecream tubs. dont over crowd them. once over there we kept them alive in buckets of sea water.

we also took loads of live blacks and whites using the same method.

some of the lads even brought back any whites and blacks they still had left.

we left the buckets out on the balcony to keep them cold. you could even use the cool boxes you traveled over with to keep them in.

the biggest problem is the amount of rain they get over there. make sure it cant get into your cantainers. some cool boxes will let let rain get in around the lid.

We've got a large chest freezer over there for the frozen baits and a bait fridge separate so the ragworm will be going there in Polly boxes with paper getting changed on a regular basis. It's not the keeping I was worried about was just the thought of getting it over there. But it's all sorted now. Thanks for the responses!
