  • Bait clip advise Please

Help me out chaps , I have started to use pulley rigs as heading into winter ,but have some trouble keeping the bait clipped down when i cast . I am using a geminie genie on the end of my rig and using 5 or 6 oz sinkers . Only thing i can think it might be is my cast ? Any words of wisdom received with thanks

Make sure the hook length is distinctively shorter and it should be fine.

I only use these and never have a problem and I'm no expert

If you have a chunky messy bait that causes them to release in the air mate or your hook snood might be to long for the rig body

Maybe your hook length is a little to long. I use impact shield me they work a treat never have any problems with them at all I used to use the breakeaway imps but some times they wouldnt relase in the water.

Breakaway imps for me. I only use the above as rotten bottoms.

if u r using pulleys perhaps ur snood is too long. for other rigs like clipped down / 2 hook bomber . i find using srt springs or neoprene tubingcan help maintain a snood tension on a clipped rig during a cast.
Punch and pull then let rip

I had similar issues last year mate and once i changed snood length it resolved itself.... use impact shields and breakaway imps... no problems with either to be honest. Trial and error I guess.
