  • Does anyone provide this service

OK - just back into my fishing big time after over a ten year absence - the bug is back but everything has moved on somewhat.

I'm looking to see if the following service is 'buyable' out there.

    1. Someone to come and check my casting and ensure I'm doing things right
    2. Set up my reels (change components inside if necessary) to suit what I need, show me how to maintain them etc. I've got an Abu 7 and Saltist 30.

Just throwing it out there to see what is available these days.

    Cheers!
    Cheers Mark

will do Phil - cheers for that! Whilst I am on I'm new to forum. two things - where can I get a NESA sticker for my box ha! and is it 'poitically correct' to ask for hints and tips on marks that seem to be fishing well or is that overstepping the mark and people protective. Seeing names of marks being mentioned but just trying to know precisely where some of them are.

There is a lad on here sorting the stickers but can't remember his name mate. As for info on marks nearly everyone will tell you were they are when best to fish them unless there is fish there then everyone goes quite lol if your fishing north of the tyne I am not much use up there to be honest south of the tyne I know a few marks if you get stuck give me a shout mate. Welcome to the mad house any way some good lads on here and normally some good banter that normally gets out of hand lol

Send a PM to Thunderpants (Mike) about the NESA stickers mate.
As for asking about marks, etc, you can only ask. Some will help, some keep marks that are fishing well to themselves.

It's Bob Collins (Arc on here) who does the casting lessons (though I'm sure BobC would be flattered by the thought).

For the OP: If you can get down to Durham I can set you off in the right direction casting wise though to be fair those are fairly hefty reels to be trying to learn to cast with. What rod are you pairing them with? And what sort of areas are you hoping to fish?

I got a lesson of Peter Thain, it has been the best thing I've ever done!
He has different ways of casting if it doesn't work for you at first.
He's based up at Blyth and is Ultimate Casting on Facebook.
