Read an article saying that there has been unexplained population explosion of snake pipefish is occurring in the seas around northern Britain, apparently they are related to the seahorse family and were quite rare.

Well that confirms my suspicions, It's the broad pipefish ( Toiletarium Piperium), Thats why every time I fish collywell I blank, Cod are very partial to these, hope it was kept for bait.

Lol mate, we might as well have kept it for bait, as the fish were not interested in anything we tried. Crab, Mussell, Razorfish, Rag, Lug.

Mind you there was a crank fishing next to us that caught some Coley's and I think a small Codling but nowt decent.

                          Jim.

To be honest i've fished it for years and caught nowt special, it's the last place I want to fish but keep going back, You can bet there's always a few doubla's come from there every year! Every time I go there I come away with about 3 pound of lead less than when I went!

I lost a couple of hooks all night but I seem to remember that Keith was jogging back up the ramp at the end of the night lol.

I have never caught a really good fish from there but have been there when a few have been caught.

                              Jim.
