    Hi lads,dont know if you seen countryfile on sunday night but there was a report on a place called "staithes" in Yorkshire,loads of lovely kelp and rough ground(a guy caught lobster directly off the shore)has to be worth a shot in the winter with big baits and a bit of a swell on,anyone tried it,or fancy a chuck on it?,cheers chris

    that whole area is a know cod mark in the winter, loads fish there.

      Its a chew to get down to 'though I think. I went for a recce last year and you could only park at the top then it's a fair old walk down to the village. At the time if was residents parking only at the village itself. I think there is more info on the Whitby site.

        Take plenty money with you - parking fees are more than my mortgage.

          As mentioned, there's literally hundreds of cod marks around staithes area, don't fish staithes jetty (Cowbar) in big sea's or you will end up swimming.
