It'd be worth a chuck if you don't mind a late session (LW around 1.30am) - HW's a bit early at 7.15 or so but could be worth a chuck off the prom or boat station at the north end. LW definitely gives you more choice to move around though and there'll be fish to be had in darkness. You don't need a big chuck, generally 40-80 yards depending where you're fishing and the state of the tide.

Winds meant to drop right off. Am going to middle toilets at Blyth. Should be about there.

I fished marsden bay today to get some shelter from the wind but it was still blowing a gale even in the bay and I couldn't hold bottom, waste of time and bait

More than likely be thick with weed mate, but good luck - it's not to say the fish won't be in amongst the stuff!

I can't cast that short Dave but you might need to chuck a bit further if you're starting to fish say half-tide back, plopping short around low art the tide drops.
