This is the only way Louis or use coasters don't try and take the shrink off if there's nothing wrong with it and if it was put on by century its glued and a proper chew to get off.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is that Century make some really top quality blanks then go on and apply a really shoddy, poor quality factory build to them (the reel seat being a case in point, they really are not fit for purpose).

I did not know about the shrink tube but it doesn't surprise me, do they still araldite the tip rings on as well?

Not sure what they put tip guides on with but I must say I've never had any trouble getting them off.only the dreaded glued on shrink.

I must of hit lucky, the century reel seat on my kwr is spot on, never had a problem. In fact I think it's pretty cool, 3 year old and still going strong
What problems do other ppl have with them?

when you unscrew them the clamp part stays on the reel and the threaded part screws off down the reel seat is my problem with them ... I have this with most of them , maybe I tighten them down too much ??

Yer, that happens with mine also but I can easy live with that, other than that the only other thing I've had a slight problem with is tightness, after the first couple chucks it needs another half turn and after that fine. A canny good and solid reel seat IMHO

im not happy with that I think its shyte tbh. poor design that needs attention , for a rod costing in excess of £ 400 they supply a cheap shyte reel seat that probs costs them £ 3

                        I'll agree to disagree mate
Mind, their rod bags are total crap in my opinion, the arse dropped out of mine within 6 months, not used much either
