Did a bit of a reccy around Seaham today with the dogs at low tide, trying to work some marks out for the winter. We pulled up at the entrance to Ryhope Dean where the barrier is but where would you park to go down there ? Is it OK to leave car at the roadside ?
I live in ryhope m8 do not leave ur car at the roadside not sure where to park i do not fish the dean try outside the houses in the way from sunderland bit of way but u will still have a car to get home in
could take your car all the way down to the ramp once , till the idiots that torch cars began doing their tricks .... id park behind the ryhope social club and walk down ...
Thanks lads, will certainly take your advice. Cod one - do you not rate the dean as a mark ? Just trying to find some good spots for the coming winter fishing

It used to be a good mark mate but never fished it for a while heavy ground rotten bottoms a must I have had no problems leaving car there but can't guarantee it wont get touched. Sometimes the gate is open park in there but it's the farmers access not public land. As its on the main road should be ok but it's not exactly a busy road
If u are going to fish the dean try the right hand side of. The. entrence towards Seaham at the end of the rocks but if i was u try hill sixty or the target fish better in the winter after north eastly

That is Ryhope village, the Dene is further south towards Seaham.
If you don,t want to fish the cliffs at high water you can fish the Dene entrance if theres not much water coming down the beck.
This is what the bottom can be like, but sometimes it can be more sand.
The rock edges at low water on the south side can also be good around low water, best with a medium SE sea running.
