Jim, i was trying to point out that if Roker pier was closed and considered out of bounds then surely South Shields pier also being closed must be out of bounds purely for reasons of public liability.
If the organisers are seen to allow competitors to go round closed gates and something happened (accident or other) then the Organisers would be deemed responsible.
The bit about the Durham beaches and also the rivers wear and tyne was mentioned purely because some had wanted them in bounds and as i read the posting it would have influenced wether or not they fished.
It was not because i thought some of the north did not know where to fish, even though by their own admission some dont.
I know there is a bit of banter going on and i am sure if anyone of the north team were stuck for somewhere to fish then the south side would help them out.
