Hi Mark,
I\'ve tried it. I got myself a frozen swimmer crab and wrapped it on my pennel rig, wrapped that with squid and bait elastic, then took a bait syringe full of peeler oil - with the intention of injecting it into the middle of the bait - but, the needle (Which was sharp as a needle!) went right through the bait ( like a very sharp needle would through very soft bait!) and straight into my finger. what a total plonker! - couldn\'t help but laugh at my stupidity
The bait was sucessfull though, I managed to catch a crab on it! - Doh!
My advice: don\'t use it sub-cutaneously; I haven\'t tried it intra-venously yet, but I doubt whether that would be any better.Pat. Pending

The only noticeable effects from jabbing myself with a syringe loaded with \'peeler oil\' was as follows:
a rapid tightening of the lips combined with a sharp inhalation!
This was immediately followed by an uncontrollable and involuntary expletive!
I can confirm that \'peeler oil\' has no discernible psycho-active properties. However, I did spend the rest of the evening grinning to myself and repeating the words \"stupid b*****d!\"
Once I get out of re-hab, my aim is to go back to catching crabs without the use of stimulants! I sincerly hope others can learn from my experience, and that if someone offers you \'peeler oil’ you will just say \"no!\" - it\'s really not worth the pain!

Just bought a bottle from Temples at Whitley Bay. Will give it a try.

I\'d say it\'s worth a go. There\'s a few other types of oils and essences out there and the way they\'re produced and packaged means they don\'t take up much space in a tackle box. I reckon if you\'re struggling it wouldn\'t do any harm to have the option of whacking a bit of this that or the other onto your bait.
