anybody see this article in the news. Just hope the capping layer is the right thickness otherwise there may not be mant fish around souter point in the next couple of years.

the river thrived when it was heavily industrial (with fish ) the same as the durham an northumberland beaches . all the ****e in the ground at trow an souter both offshore an onshore has been there for years , so in my opinion it is scare mongering ...... to put it how it should be said WHAT A LOAD OF ****E ........!MY BEST MATE JESS,15/8/94-1/8/11 X.

I mentioned this on NESA back in 2005.............seen the dredger plying to & from the Tyne many times......it went a few miles off Whitburn and returned many, many times....the operation went on for a few weeks.
Had a suspicion that it was dumping old "river waste" and mentioned it to a couple of the "boaty" lads.
